• 8. Set up Hidden Words. Settings → Hidden Words auto-hides comment spam and scam DMs — new accounts get flooded with "promote it on…" bots within days.
• 9. Limit message requests. Decide upfront who can DM you and who lands in requests; changing this later is much easier than digging out of an inbox of spam.
• 10. Review tagging permissions. Require tag approval so spam accounts can't attach your fresh brand to junk giveaways.
