Privacy Policy

This policy explains what 360username.com collects, why, who else receives it, and what you can do about it. The site is operated by an independent developer as a free, ad-supported project. It is written to be read, not to be survived — if anything here is unclear, email admin@360username.com and we will explain it.

1. The short version

• There are no user accounts on this site. You cannot sign up, so we hold no profile about you.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• The searches you run are processed to return your results and are not sold or traded.
• The site is funded by advertising. Google and its partners set cookies to serve those ads, and you can opt out of personalised advertising — section 6 explains how.
• We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools get used.

2. Who we are

360username.com (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is an independently operated website offering free username availability checking, AI name generation, bulk domain search, and Unicode text tools. For the purposes of the UK and EU GDPR, the site operator is the data controller for the limited personal data described below. 3. What we collect

Information you give us

• Search queries. The usernames, keywords, and domain names you type into our tools. These are sent to the platforms and registrars we check, and to our AI provider where you use the generator. We do not attach them to an identity, because we do not have one for you.
• Bug reports and emails. If you write to us or submit a report, we keep the message and any contact details you include, so we can reply and fix the problem.
• Newsletter signup. If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us until you unsubscribe.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data. Pages visited, approximate region, referring site, device and browser type, and how long a page was open. This is aggregate analytics, not a profile of you by name.
• Technical logs. Our hosting and security providers process IP addresses and request metadata to serve the site, apply rate limits, and block abuse.
• Cookies and similar technologies. See sections 5 and 6.

What we never collect

We do not ask for and do not want your passwords, payment card details, government identifiers, or the credentials to any platform account. No feature on this site requires them. If a page ever appears to ask you for these, it is not us — please report it to admin@360username.com.

4. Why we process it, and our legal basis

• To provide the tools — running your search, returning results, generating names. Legal basis: performance of a contract / our legitimate interest in operating the service you asked for.
• To keep the site working and safe — rate limiting, bot filtering, abuse prevention, debugging. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• To understand and improve usage — aggregate analytics about which tools and pages are used. Legal basis: legitimate interests, or consent where local law requires it.
• To show advertising that pays for hosting and API costs. Legal basis: consent where required (for example in the EEA and UK), otherwise legitimate interests.
• To reply to you and, if you opted in, to send the newsletter. Legal basis: legitimate interests and consent respectively.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries:

• Strictly necessary. Security and anti-abuse checks (Cloudflare Turnstile) and basic site function. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
• Preferences. Local browser storage remembering things like recent searches or a copied style, so the tools behave sensibly between visits. This stays in your browser.
• Analytics. Google Analytics, to count visits and see which tools are used.
• Advertising. Google AdSense and its partners — see the next section.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies does not restrict any tool on this site.

6. Advertising — Google AdSense and third-party vendors

This site is free because it carries display advertising. The following disclosures are required of sites that use Google AdSense, and they apply here:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
• If you are in a region that requires it, you will be asked for consent before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.

Advertising is kept out of search results themselves. We do not accept payment to change what a tool reports, and we do not share your search queries with advertisers.

7. AI processing

The name generator and related features send the keywords you enter to third-party AI providers to produce suggestions. Only the text you type is sent — no identity is attached, because we do not hold one. Do not enter personal, confidential, or sensitive information into the generator. The providers’ handling of that text is governed by their own API terms, which prohibit using business API content to train their public models.

8. Service providers who process data for us

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these receives only what it needs to do its job:

• Hosting and CDN — serving the site and storing technical logs.
• Google AdSense — advertising.
• Google Analytics — aggregate usage measurement.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — bot and abuse protection.
• AI providers — generating name suggestions from your keywords.
• Domain registrars and platform endpoints — the availability lookups themselves.
• Email provider — delivering replies and, if you opted in, the newsletter.

Some of these operate outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, it is covered by the transfer mechanisms those providers maintain, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. How long we keep things

• Search queries — processed to return your result, not retained as a personal record.
• Technical and security logs — typically a matter of weeks, then discarded or aggregated.
• Analytics — retained in aggregate form according to the analytics provider’s settings.
• Emails and bug reports — kept while the issue is open and for a reasonable period after, so we can spot repeat problems.
• Newsletter address — until you unsubscribe.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time.

If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR): all of the above apply, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Advertising cookies described in section 6 may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA, and you can opt out using the links in that section or a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honour. You will never be treated differently for exercising a privacy right.

To exercise any right, email admin@360username.com. We will respond within the time limit the applicable law sets — generally one month under GDPR and 45 days under the CPRA. Because the site has no accounts, we may have very little data tied to you; in that case we will tell you so plainly rather than asking you to prove your identity unnecessarily.

11. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that threshold), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email admin@360username.com and we will delete it.

12. Security

The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy, and we deliberately minimise what we collect — the most reliable way to protect data is not to hold it. There are no user accounts and no stored passwords. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Links to other sites

Results link out to social platforms and domain registrars. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy governs what happens next. Some registrar links may be affiliate links; they never affect availability results or the price you pay.

14. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last Updated” date above changes with it. Material changes — anything that meaningfully alters what we collect or who receives it — will be flagged on the site rather than made quietly.
